What You’ll Need:
-
Master’s degree in Speech–Language Pathology from an accredited program
-
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP–CCC)
-
Active Texas license from the Board of Examiners for Speech–Language Pathology and Audiology
-
At least 400 clock hours of supervised clinical practicum (minimum 375 hours of direct service)
-
36 weeks (or equivalent) of Paid Clinical Experience (PCE) under a temporary license
-
Passing score on the Praxis exam (or equivalent)
-
Demonstrated good moral character and a clear criminal background check
-
2+ years of school-based SLP experience (preferred)
-
Previous teletherapy experience is a bonus
-
Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet workspace

What You’ll Do:

Conduct interactive, engaging teletherapy sessions

Complete evaluations, write IEP goals, and submit progress reports

Collaborate with teachers, families, and on-site school staff

Comply with Texas Education Agency (TEA) standards and Board documentation guidelines

Use digital tools and creative techniques to maintain student engagement

Licensing & Credential Highlights (Texas):

Texas SLP licensure requires a Master’s degree, completion of clinical practicum, passing the Praxis exam, and a 36-week clinical fellowship under temporary licensure

Temporary licenses are valid for one year and may be renewed

Licenses are renewed biennially and require 20 hours of continuing education
-
ASHA-certified SLPs or those licensed in other states may be eligible for licensure by reciprocity
