A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available in Monroe, MI, serving a K-12 day center specializing in Severe Cognitive Impairment (SCI) populations. This contract role is onsite only and runs through the current school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech and language therapy to K-12 students with severe cognitive impairments.
- Implement Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology (AT) devices to enhance communication.
- Manage a caseload that complies with Michigan’s maximum limit of 60 students.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student communication goals.
- Maintain up-to-date and compliant speech-language documentation and data.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan SLP license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
- Experience working in school-based settings with K-12 populations.
- Expertise in AAC and assistive technology tailored for students with severe cognitive impairments.
- Ability to maintain caseloads within Michigan guidelines.
- Commitment to onsite work; this position does not accommodate clinical fellows (SLP-CF) or speech-language pathology assistants (SLPA).
