Pediatric School Speech and Language Pathologist | Homestead, Florida
A pediatric outpatient clinic in South Florida is seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist for a one-year contract near Florida City, FL, with potential extensions or permanent placement. This position offers direct individual therapy sessions for children aged 2 to 18, primarily addressing mild to moderate speech and language challenges.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive assessment, evaluation, and direct therapy services focused on pragmatics, receptive and expressive language, reading and writing delays, articulation, and autism spectrum disorders (mainly high-functioning autism). The caseload does not include medically fragile children, enabling focused care on developmental communication needs. Additionally, you will attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to collaborate with educational teams and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine speech and language needs
- Deliver individualized therapy sessions targeting pediatric communication goals
- Document progress and collaborate during IEP meetings
- Address a range of communication disorders with emphasis on pragmatic language and articulation
- Work exclusively one-on-one with clients, not in group settings
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) applicants encouraged to apply
- Current Florida Speech-Language Pathology license required
- Experience in pediatric speech therapy highly preferred
- Bilingual Spanish/English skills are a plus
