Position Overview
A well-established school district in Tacoma, Washington, is actively seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary team. This role is vital in supporting students with speech, language, and communication challenges within the school setting. The successful candidate will provide direct therapy services, conduct assessments, and collaborate with educational staff to enhance student learning and communication outcomes.
Responsibilities

Administer formal and informal speech and language evaluations for students ranging from early childhood through high school.

Design, implement, and adjust individualized therapy programs based on assessment data and student progress.

Work closely with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to ensure integrated support and positive outcomes.

Prepare and maintain accurate records, progress reports, and documentation consistent with district policies and state/federal guidelines.

Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute expert recommendations to support student goals.

Provide training and resources to school staff to facilitate effective communication strategies in the classroom.

Foster an inclusive environment that promotes effective communication and social interaction among students.
Qualifications

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Valid Washington State SLP license or eligibility to obtain licensure.

ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.

Experience in a school-based setting preferred but not required.

Strong knowledge of state and federal special education regulations (IDEA, FAPE, etc.).

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse school community.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple cases effectively and work independently.
