Speech Therapist in Sterling Heights, MI
A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available within a K-12 educational setting in Sterling Heights, MI, supporting an adult transition program. This contract role spans the current school year with services provided two days per week, totaling 14 hours weekly. The focus is on students aged 18-25, who are working toward independence through community and work-based learning, with an active caseload of approximately 10-12 students receiving direct speech services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy services tailored to the unique needs of adult transition program students
- Collaborate with education and support staff to support student goals and progress
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Participate in applicable team meetings and administrative duties as required
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC)
- Experience working within school settings, preferably K-12
- Familiarity with caseload/workload models in educational environments
- Strong skills in delivering services to transition-aged students (18-25 years)
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary teams
