Speech Therapist in Eugene, OR
An exciting opportunity is available for a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide essential leave coverage within a dynamic educational setting in Eugene, OR. This role focuses on delivering comprehensive speech and language services as part of a Special Education team supporting students with diverse needs, including moderate to severe disabilities and emotional/behavioral challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students onsite
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Utilize both low and high-tech augmentative communication systems to assist communication
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality in handling sensitive student information
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to a positive learning environment
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Possession of an Oregon teaching license with Speech Impaired or Communication Disorder Endorsement and/or State of Oregon Speech-Language Pathology License
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities highly desirable
- Familiarity with augmentative communication technologies is an advantage
- Valid Oregon Driver’s License required
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively with diverse groups
- May require valid First Aid/CPR certification
