A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available for a contract position in a middle school setting located in Somerset, PA. This role offers the chance to work with students in grades 5 through 7, providing essential speech and language support to a caseload of approximately 60-65 students. The position runs from January 15th, 2026 through May 29th, 2026, with a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Proven experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist, preferably in a school setting
- Strong understanding of speech and language development in children aged 10-13 years
- Ability to manage a caseload of 60+ students effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, families, and educational staff
- Valid state licensure and certification for school-based speech therapy services
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized education plans (IEPs), and deliver targeted therapy sessions
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate, detailed records for each student on your caseload
- Collaborate with educators and other support staff to address students’ speech and language needs
- Provide guidance and support to teachers and parents regarding communication strategies
- Stay current with best practices and new developments in speech-language pathology
