Speech Therapist in Sioux Falls, SD
A temporary opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide vital support in educational settings during maternity leave coverage. This position spans two distinct assignments within a school year contract, offering the chance to impact students across different grade levels.
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language services to middle and elementary school students during maternity leave absences.
- Collaborate with an onsite Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) who will support your caseload.
- Serve approximately 30 students in an intermediate setting (grades 5-6) for one day per week from October 20 to December 17.
- Transition to a full-time role supporting 70+ elementary students from January 23 through April.
- Maintain compliance with school policies and individualized education plans (IEPs) for all service delivery.
- Document progress and collaborate with staff and families to support student communication goals.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with experience in school settings.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team, including working alongside an SLPA.
- Experience in serving a broad age range of students, specifically intermediate and elementary levels.
- Understanding of special education protocols and individualized service planning.
- No Clinical Fellowship year (CF) candidates, please.
Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Schedule: Part-time (1 day/week) October to December; Full-time January to April
