School Speech Language Pathologist - Shafter, California
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available at an elementary school setting located in Shafter, CA. This contracted role begins immediately and is designed for an on-site professional to support a diverse caseload within multiple campuses.
Responsibilities include delivering speech services across four campuses that serve students from TK through 8th grade, including preschool programs. Caseloads are capped at 55 students, encompassing a spectrum from speech-only needs to moderate-to-severe communication challenges. The SLP will evaluate, treat, and implement individualized intervention plans. Additionally, the role involves initiating and monitoring alternative communication resources for nonverbal students to enhance their expressive and receptive communication abilities.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
- Experience in school-based SLP services, particularly at the elementary level
- Ability to manage a varied caseload including special education students with moderate to severe speech and language disorders
- Skilled in implementing augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multi-campus system
Location: Shafter, California, serving four campuses from early childhood through middle school.
