Job Description:
We are actively seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a full-time, school-based position in Santa Cruz, CA. This position will serve students in specialized programs (ESN – Extensive Support Needs) from middle school through post-senior (transition age) levels.
The role involves direct therapy, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting students with complex communication needs. The position is available immediately and runs through the end of the current school year.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct speech and language therapy services in accordance with IEP goals

Support students with extensive support needs (ESN), including those with moderate to severe disabilities

Collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and families to promote functional communication

Collect data, document progress, and assist in reporting for IEP meetings

Implement therapy plans developed by supervising SLP (for SLPA candidates)

Modify communication approaches to meet individual student needs

Participate in staff meetings and IEP team discussions as appropriate
Qualifications:
For SLP Candidates:

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
-
Active California Speech-Language Pathology license
-
California Teaching Credential (Speech-Language Pathology Services) or eligibility

Experience with ESN populations strongly preferred
For SLPA Candidates:
-
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders
-
Active California SLPA license
-
Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities preferred
-
Must work under the supervision of a licensed SLP
