Speech Language Pathologist in San Jose, CA
Make a difference in the lives of students while providing essential support across two vibrant elementary school communities in the San Jose, CA area. This contract opportunity places you as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) working part-time at Braly Elementary (serving mid to moderate needs) and part-time at Briarwood Elementary (supporting general education and preschool students). You’ll play a crucial role by addressing increased caseloads and completing assessments as needed, without being the primary SLP at either location. Enjoy a varied workweek, with each day based at a single school site.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) preferred
- School-based SLP experience highly desirable
- Valid state licensure preferred, but not required
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with teams and adapt to changing needs
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy to students with diverse needs
- Support existing SLPs by helping to manage high caseload volumes
- Complete assessments and contribute to eligibility determinations
- Work one-on-one or in small groups, tailoring interventions to student goals
- Rotate between school sites as assigned, offering consistent support where needed
- Maintain accurate records and communicate progress to educators and families
This is a full-time position (8am–3pm, Monday through Friday) beginning at the start of the school year on September 25, 2026, continuing throughout the academic year until the district makes a permanent internal hire.
