Position Summary
We are seeking a full?time (4?day per week) Speech?Language Pathologist to cover a maternity leave in San Jose, California. The position involves delivering in?person speech and language services to students according to their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The role begins immediately and ends in February 2026, with possibility of extension based on district needs.
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct speech and language therapy (individual and/or group) for students in need as determined by IEPs.

Conduct assessments and evaluations (initial, annual, or triennial) to identify speech, language, voice, fluency, pragmatic, and communication needs.

Develop, write, and monitor IEP goals; adjust intervention based on student progress.

Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (teachers, special education staff, administrators, parents).

Document therapy sessions, progress reports, evaluation reports, service logs, and other required records in a timely and compliant manner.

Incorporate strategies into classroom settings in collaboration with teachers and support staff to ensure carryover of communication skills.

Maintain confidentiality, follow district, state, and federal special education laws and policies.
Qualifications
Required:
-
Master’s degree in Speech?Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Valid California Speech?Language Pathology Services Credential (or eligibility).
-
California license for Speech?Language Pathology through the Speech?Language Pathology & Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board.
-
Clearances/background checks (fingerprinting, tuberculosis, etc.) as required by the district.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively in a school environment.
Preferred:
-
Prior experience in school?based settings or working with K?12 students.

Experience covering leave positions or stepping into an existing caseload.
-
Familiarity with district/school IEP platforms/software.
-
Bilingual abilities a plus.
