Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Position Type: Full-Time (1.0 FTE – 7 hours/day)
Location: School site within the Salinas Union High School District, California
Start Date: ASAP (contingent upon interview and LiveScan clearance)
Contract End Date: May 29, 2026
Grade Levels: 7th–12th Grade
Caseload: Approximately 55 students
Credential Requirement: Must hold a valid California SLP Credential and CTC Certification

Position Overview:

The Salinas Union High School District is seeking a qualified and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our secondary education team for the 2025–2026 school year. This is a full-time, on-site role serving middle and high school students (grades 7–12). Site assignment will be determined based on district needs and applicant strengths.

You will be part of a collaborative and student-centered support services team, working alongside educators, psychologists, and other specialists to provide comprehensive speech and language support to students.


Work Schedule:

  • 7-hour workday (1.0 FTE)

  • Schedule may vary by site. Typical hours include:

  • 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

  • 8:45 AM – 3:45 PM


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct speech-language evaluations in compliance with IDEA

  • Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with the school team

  • Provide individual and group therapy services

  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed

  • Document services in accordance with district and state requirements

  • Participate in IEP meetings, student support teams, and school-based interventions

  • Collaborate with families, teachers, and support staff to support student success


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders

  • Valid California Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential

  • Clear CTC certification

  • Must pass LiveScan background check

  • Experience working with secondary student populations preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
