Provide specialized speech-language pathology services in an elementary school setting in Roanoke, VA. This full-time contract position runs through the current school year and involves working within a supportive team environment, including supervising an SLPA to effectively manage caseloads.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive student assessments and evaluations to identify speech and language needs.
  • Develop, write, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s goals.
  • Deliver direct therapy services to support students’ communication development.
  • Attend team meetings and IEP sessions to collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff.
  • Supervise and mentor an SLPA, delegating tasks to ensure workload balance.
  • Complete required documentation and maintain compliance with school and state guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Virginia State License as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
  • Experience working in school or pediatric settings preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency in managing documentation and scheduling.
  • Willingness to travel between assigned schools; paid travel time included.
