Location: Onsite (Saco-area schools)
About the Opportunity
The Saco School Department is seeking two dedicated and experienced Speech–Language Pathologists (SLPs) to join our collaborative PreK–12 team. These are full-time, onsite positions for the 2025–2026 school year, with a primary focus on providing direct speech and language therapy, evaluating students, and supporting IEP progress reporting.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver direct speech–language therapy to PreK–12 students across multiple school sites

Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations, including initial assessments and re-evaluations
-
Participate in IEP meetings, goal development, and compliance documentation
-
Complete progress reports and maintain accurate, timely service records
-
Collaborate with teachers, families, and specialists to support student success
-
Maintain compliance with IDEA, state, and district standards
-
Provide support across general and special education settings

Implement or support use of AAC systems when applicable (training available)
Qualifications
-
Master's degree in Speech–Language Pathology
-
Active Maine SLP license (or eligibility to obtain)
-
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; CFs with strong school-based experience may be considered

Strong understanding of school-based therapy practices, IEP documentation, and progress monitoring
-
Effective communication and collaboration skills
-
Comfort working with students across a wide age range (PreK–12)
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools and strategies
-
Familiarity with diverse student populations, including those with autism, developmental delays, and multiple disabilities
-
School-based experience strongly preferred
Caseload & Support

Caseloads will be balanced across age groups and needs

Access to materials, assessments, digital tools, and professional development

Collaboration with a team of SLPs, OTs, PTs, and special education staff
