A K-12 school in Napa, CA, is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a contract position covering a maternity leave. This opportunity starts in early February and continues through the end of the school year, providing services five days per week with approximately 7 hours of work per day. The position supports a caseload of 56 students primarily in grades TK-5 who are in general education settings. SLPA assistance is available two days per week, helping to manage the workload effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy services to students in a large elementary school setting
- Collaborate with another SLP who serves students in special day classes (SDC)
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress
- Work closely with teachers and other school staff to support student communication needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with school district guidelines
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required; candidates with Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) status will also be considered
- Experience working with K-5 students in a school or educational setting preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working within a supportive team environment
- Background in providing services to general education populations
- Ability to manage a sizable caseload efficiently with SLPA support
