Pediatric Speech and Language Pathologist in Rockford, IL
A contract position for the 2025-2026 school year is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students in a specialized educational setting in Rockford, IL. This role offers flexibility with both full-time and part-time options and provides an opportunity to work with a diverse student population from Kindergarten through transition age (12+).
Responsibilities:
- Manage caseloads assigned per classroom, typically serving 2-4 classrooms depending on employment status (full or part-time)
- Provide speech and language services to students with a wide range of communication abilities, including those with Autism, limited to no verbal skills, and AAC users at various proficiency levels
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop and implement individualized therapy plans
- Monitor and document student progress and adapt interventions accordingly
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois SLP or SLPA license
- For SLPs: Professional Educator License (PEL) for Illinois schools through ISBE
- Experience or interest in working with students with Autism and a range of communication needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families
