A specialized opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to serve an elementary school community in Retsof, NY. This is a full-time contract position (37-40 hours per week) within a public school setting. The role primarily focuses on elementary-level caseloads, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners' communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive speech and language services to elementary students.
  • Implement assessment and intervention plans tailored to individual student needs.
  • Support the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools.
  • Collaborate with educators and families to promote student success.
  • Potentially supervise a Clinical Fellow (CF), offering guidance and mentorship.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and comply with school district policies.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Work onsite exclusively to foster close collaboration with the school team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current state certification and credentials as an SLP (CCC preferred).
  • Experience in school-based speech-language pathology, particularly with elementary-age students.
  • Familiarity with AAC strategies and tools.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise and support Clinical Fellows.
  • Previous experience in a school setting is highly valued.

This contract role replaces an experienced SLP who recently retired, representing a unique opportunity to become an integral part of this district’s special education services. The position is onsite only, allowing for direct engagement with students, staff, and families.
