Teletherapy SLP Opportunity | Reno, NV
VocoVision provides specialized recruitment services for speech language pathologists seeking remote therapy positions. Our partnerships with schools throughout Nevada create opportunities for certified SLPs to deliver high-quality teletherapy services while enjoying the flexibility of working from home.
Speech language pathologists with school experience are invited to join our growing network of professionals providing virtual therapy services. These positions enable you to make significant impacts on students' communication development through evidence-based teletherapy interventions delivered via secure digital platforms.
What This Role Involves
Virtual speech language pathologists typically maintain schedules of 35-40 hours weekly, managing caseloads of 40-50 students spanning kindergarten through high school. The remote structure provides flexibility in your work environment while maintaining consistent availability for scheduled therapy sessions, evaluations, meetings, and documentation time.
Students on your caseload will present with varied communication challenges requiring specialized intervention. You'll address articulation and phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language delays, stuttering and fluency disorders, voice and resonance issues, and pragmatic language deficits. Each student's individualized therapy plan will target their specific communication needs as outlined in their IEP.
Core Therapy Duties
Your primary focus involves delivering engaging, goal-directed therapy sessions through video conferencing platforms. This includes utilizing screen sharing to present visual supports, incorporating digital therapy games and activities, modeling correct speech productions, and providing immediate feedback during sessions. Small group and individual sessions will comprise your weekly schedule based on IEP service minutes.
Evaluation responsibilities include conducting comprehensive speech and language assessments for students suspected of having communication disorders. You'll administer standardized tests through the teletherapy platform, gather work samples and teacher input, analyze results to determine eligibility, and write detailed evaluation reports with recommendations. Assessment reports must be completed within district timelines and comply with state regulations.
Progress monitoring drives treatment planning decisions. You'll collect session data demonstrating progress toward goals, analyze trends in student performance, adjust therapeutic approaches when progress stalls, and prepare quarterly progress reports for families. This ongoing assessment ensures therapy remains effective and targeted.
Virtual collaboration requires intentional effort to maintain strong working relationships. You'll participate in remote IEP meetings presenting evaluation findings and progress updates, consult with classroom teachers about implementing communication strategies, provide parent training for carryover activities, and coordinate with other related service providers. Clear communication helps ensure comprehensive support for students.
Minimum Requirements
Nevada state licensure for speech language pathologists must be current and valid. The ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is mandatory. Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and document at least two years of experience providing services in K-12 school environments.
Technical requirements include proficiency with teletherapy platforms, reliable high-speed internet connectivity, and appropriate equipment including a quality webcam and microphone. Your workspace should support confidential therapy sessions and professional virtual meetings. Experience with digital therapy materials and online documentation systems is beneficial.
