Pediatric School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
A temporary Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available to provide essential support in an elementary school setting in Harrisburg, PA. This contract role covers an FMLA leave from March 9th to June 5th and offers the opportunity to work with a diverse student population in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing a caseload of approximately 57 students, including three consult-only cases and eight students in a self-contained K-2nd grade Autistic Support classroom
- Conducting individual and small group therapy sessions in a dedicated office space designed to accommodate small groups
- Collaborating with school staff and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Adjusting schedules to accommodate daily student arrival and dismissal times, with flexibility around inservice days and holidays (typical hours 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with official staff hours 7:30 AM to 3:20 PM)
Qualifications and experience desired:
- Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP - CCC preferred)
- Experience working in school-based or pediatric healthcare settings
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) welcome to apply
- Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability skills
- Familiarity with services for students with autism spectrum disorders considered a plus
This position allows for valuable hands-on experience impacting elementary students’ communication development. The SLP will receive a private office and a manageable caseload in a well-established educational program.
