Travel Speech-Language Pathologist in Providence, RI
A contract opportunity is available for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in school-based services to support a special needs caseload in Providence, RI. This role focuses on providing essential speech-language therapy within an elementary school setting (K-5) for students with moderate to severe disabilities. The position begins June 15 and extends over an 8-week duration, with an initial full-time schedule during the school year transitioning to part-time upon the contract start date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy tailored to students with diverse special needs
- Complete comprehensive evaluations and assessments to guide therapy planning
- Develop and update individualized education program (IEP) goals in accordance with student progress
- Actively participate in IEP meetings alongside educators and families
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including special education staff and caregivers
Desired Qualifications:
- Hold a current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
- Experience working in school-based settings with special education populations
- Proficiency in conducting evaluations, writing IEP goals, and leading therapy sessions
- Comfort managing a caseload of approximately 50 students with varying disabilities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team of SLPs and school personnel
Location and Schedule:
- Single school site in Providence, Rhode Island
- Initial school-year schedule: Full time (7:45 AM – 3:15 PM)
- Contract period from June 15: Part time (7:45 AM – 1:15 PM)
