School-Based Occupational Therapist – Full Time
Schedule: 36.65 hours/week | 7.33 hours/day, Monday–Friday
Contract Term: ASAP through June 15, 2026
Service Model: Onsite role with required home visits
A school-based program is looking for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join a supportive, multidisciplinary team serving students with significant behavioral and functional needs. This opportunity is ideal for an OT who values collaboration, structured support, and impactful work with learners who benefit from specialized interventions.
Role Highlights
• Full-time schedule throughout the school week
• Caseload includes students across multiple grade levels
• Combination of school-based therapy and home visit responsibilities
Student Population
You’ll work within small, highly supported classrooms of approximately eight students, providing services to learners who may present:
• Intensive behavioral or emotional challenges
• Functional to inclusion-level skill ranges
• Needs related to sensory regulation, calming strategies, and structured routines
• Goals in fine motor development, tactile engagement, and handwriting
Primary Responsibilities
• Deliver direct and indirect occupational therapy services
• Implement sensory-based and calming interventions
• Support fine motor, tactile, and handwriting skill development
• Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and behavior support teams
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain required documentation
• Complete home visits as part of the service model
Required Qualifications
• Active Virginia Occupational Therapy license
• Experience working with students with significant behavioral or functional needs
