This part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is based in South Portland, ME, serving a K-12 school setting. The assignment runs from ASAP through the end of the school year, offering 8 to 24 hours per week. The role primarily supports students in pre-kindergarten through 5th grade, focusing on those with high needs in special purpose programming. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with evaluations at another elementary school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language pathology services to students with diverse communication needs.
- Support students primarily in special purpose programs with higher needs.
- Assist with speech and language evaluations at an additional elementary site.
- Utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies when appropriate.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop individualized plans.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid SLP certification with the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.
- Experience working in pediatric and school settings.
- Skilled in working with early childhood to elementary-aged students (Pre-K to 5th grade).
- Familiarity with AAC methods considered a strong asset.
- Ability to manage caseloads independently and support evaluation processes.
