School Speech Language Pathologist - Portage, Indiana
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity making a meaningful impact in the educational setting as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year. This onsite position, located near Portage, IN, seeks two dedicated SLPs eager to support students across elementary and middle school populations.
Both roles are full-time (37.5 hours per week), running from August 12, 2026, through May 26, 2027. The first SLP will split time between one elementary and one middle school building, while the second SLP will work in two middle school buildings. Caseloads range between 45-55 students, fostering a dynamic and engaging work environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active state Speech-Language Pathologist license with CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
- Previous school-based SLP experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, teachers, and families
- Proficiency in supporting diverse elementary and/or middle school populations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining quality therapeutic interventions
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy and diagnostic services to assigned caseload
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Regularly assess student progress and maintain detailed documentation
- Consult with educators and parents to facilitate student success and generalization of skills
- Attend IEP meetings, team consultations, and staff in-services as required
