Speech-Language Pathologist in Fort Pierce, FL
A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to support students from kindergarten through 12th grade in a dynamic educational environment located in Fort Pierce, FL. This contract position covers the current school year and focuses on delivering speech and language therapy services to help students improve communication skills critical for academic success and social interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide individualized speech and language therapy to students with communication disorders
- Develop and implement IEP goals tailored to enhance students’ speech, language, and communication abilities
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and provide progress reports as required by the school district
- Participate in professional development and team meetings to stay current with best practices in school-based speech therapy
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred
- Experience working with K-12 students in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of educational standards and IEP processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
