Position Overview

Plano ISD is seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support senior high school students (11th and 12th grades) during the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time, onsite position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping students develop communication skills that support academic success, independence, and post-secondary readiness.

The selected SLP will manage a caseload of approximately 40 students and work collaboratively with educators, administrators, families, and special education teams to deliver high-quality speech and language services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services to students in a high school setting.
  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations and assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy goals and treatment plans.
  • Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals and accommodations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance records.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families to support student success.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Active Texas Speech-Language Pathologist License
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
  • Ability to work onsite for the duration of the assignment
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills

Preferred

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
  • Previous school-based experience
  • Experience working with high school-aged students
  • Knowledge of special education processes and IEP development
