High School School Speech and Language Pathologist | Joliet, Illinois
A part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is open at a high school setting in Joliet, IL, with a contract for the current school year. This role involves working three days per week, delivering specialized speech and language therapy services to students with a range of needs, including moderate to severe disabilities, ages 2 to 22.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering speech-language therapy targeting assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language skills, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and both receptive and expressive language delays.
- Performing diagnostic and evaluation testing to assess student needs thoroughly.
- Writing clear, comprehensive reports that reflect student assessments and observations.
- Developing and maintaining Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives tailored to student progress.
- Collaborating with parents and team members to discuss developmental progress and support strategies.
Ideal candidates will meet the following qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for an Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) license and a Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Preferably have 1 to 2 years of experience as an SLP in a school setting.
- Exhibit strong communication skills and thrive in collaborative environments.
- Demonstrate flexibility and effective problem-solving abilities.
