Speech Language Pathologist - Teletherapy Services | Reading, PA
Join our innovative virtual education team providing essential speech and language therapy services that empower students to communicate confidently and effectively. We're recruiting an experienced speech language pathologist who brings clinical excellence and creative problem-solving to teletherapy delivery in our dynamic online school environment.
Role Framework
Provide speech therapy services for approximately 50-58 students per week, maintaining 36 hours in our structured virtual education system. Your therapeutic expertise will support students with diverse communication challenges including speech disorders, language delays, social communication difficulties, and alternative communication needs across all grade levels.
Direct Therapy Services
- Administer comprehensive speech-language assessments for initial and re-evaluations
- Develop functional, measurable IEP goals targeting specific communication skills
- Deliver engaging individual and group therapy through interactive virtual sessions
- Implement systematic phonological intervention for multiple sound error patterns
- Provide grammar and syntax therapy developing complex sentence structures
- Support fluency development through stuttering management techniques
- Address resonance and vocal quality concerns with evidence-based protocols
Communication Disorder Specializations
- Articulation remediation for developmental and functional speech sound errors
- Language disorder intervention addressing vocabulary, grammar, and narratives
- Pragmatic language therapy teaching conversational and social skills
- Augmentative communication system selection, programming, and training
- Feeding and swallowing screening with appropriate referral coordination
- Literacy support integrating phonological awareness and language skills
- Voice therapy including vocal hygiene education and technique modification
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Lead IEP meetings discussing assessment findings and therapy objectives
- Train educators in implementing communication supports within classrooms
- Partner with families through regular updates and strategy sharing
- Collaborate with occupational therapists on sensory-communication connections
- Work with school psychologists addressing language-learning relationships
- Coordinate with external providers ensuring comprehensive service continuity
- Participate in RTI teams developing tiered intervention approaches
Professional Requirements
- Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid Pennsylvania Speech-Language Pathology license
- 2+ years of pediatric speech therapy experience in educational settings
- Demonstrated competence in assessment and intervention across disorder types
- Proficiency with teletherapy technology and virtual engagement strategies
- Strong clinical documentation and outcome measurement skills
- Ability to build rapport with students through digital platforms
