Specialize in helping students achieve clear, intelligible speech through expert articulation therapy in our innovative virtual education platform. We're seeking a speech language pathologist with strong expertise in speech sound disorders who thrives at delivering engaging phonological intervention through teletherapy.
Position Overview
Serve 46-54 students weekly focusing primarily on articulation and phonological disorders, working 37 hours in our virtual therapy environment. Your specialized skills will help elementary and middle school students overcome speech sound production challenges through systematic, evidence-based intervention delivered via engaging online sessions.
Articulation Therapy Specialization
- Conduct detailed speech sound assessments identifying error patterns and stimulability
- Design hierarchical therapy programs progressing from isolation to conversational speech
- Implement traditional articulation therapy for students with residual sound errors
- Deliver cycles approach intervention for children with multiple phonological processes
- Utilize visual and tactile cueing strategies adapted for virtual therapy delivery
- Provide minimal pairs therapy targeting phonemic contrasts and intelligibility
- Address developmental speech sound disorders across age ranges
Phonological Intervention Expertise
- Assess phonological processes including fronting, stopping, and cluster reduction
- Implement complexity approaches for widespread phonological patterns
- Deliver core vocabulary intervention for children with inconsistent speech
- Provide metaphonological awareness training supporting speech and literacy
- Use auditory bombardment and focused stimulation techniques virtually
- Monitor phonological development through systematic progress tracking
- Collaborate with reading specialists on phonological awareness connections
IEP Development and Documentation
- Write measurable, functional articulation goals with clear success criteria
- Conduct triennial re-evaluations documenting progress and ongoing needs
- Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports with diagnostic impressions
- Participate in eligibility meetings presenting assessment findings
- Maintain detailed session notes and data collection systems
- Generate progress reports for quarterly IEP updates
- Document service delivery minutes and attendance records
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Active Florida Speech-Language Pathology license
- 2+ years of school-based experience with articulation/phonology emphasis
- Strong knowledge of phonetics and phonological development
- Proficiency with speech sound assessment tools and protocols
- Experience with teletherapy and virtual engagement techniques
- Excellent ability to demonstrate mouth placement and movements on camera
