Speech Language Pathologist - Remote Position | Reno, NV
Lead exceptional communication outcomes for students through comprehensive speech and language therapy in our cutting-edge virtual education platform. We're seeking an accomplished speech language pathologist who excels at teletherapy delivery and is passionate about helping students develop the communication skills essential for academic and social success.
Role Structure
Support a diverse caseload of 44-54 students weekly through expert speech therapy services, maintaining 36 hours in our virtual education environment. Your clinical expertise will serve students across all grade levels with speech, language, fluency, and voice disorders through engaging and effective teletherapy interventions.
Comprehensive Clinical Services
- Administer standardized and informal assessments evaluating communication strengths and needs
- Develop IEP-aligned therapy goals with measurable objectives and progress indicators
- Conduct individual and small group therapy sessions using evidence-based intervention strategies
- Implement systematic articulation instruction targeting speech sound accuracy
- Provide morphosyntactic language therapy developing grammatical competence
- Support fluency through stuttering modification and fluency-enhancing strategies
- Address voice disorders with vocal hygiene education and therapeutic techniques
Advanced Clinical Specialization
- Severe speech sound disorders requiring phonological process intervention
- Language-based learning disabilities affecting academic performance
- AAC device selection, programming, and communication partner training
- High-level language intervention for abstract reasoning and inferencing
- Executive function coaching related to language organization and planning
- Feeding and swallowing screening with appropriate medical referrals
- Selective mutism intervention integrating behavioral and communication approaches
Educational Team Integration
- Contribute expertise to multidisciplinary evaluation and IEP teams
- Provide professional development to educators on communication disorders
- Partner with families through regular communication and strategy sharing
- Collaborate with assistive technology specialists on communication solutions
- Work with behavior interventionists on communication-behavior relationships
- Coordinate with medical professionals when speech issues have health implications
- Support school-wide literacy initiatives through language-literacy connections
Required Qualifications and Licensure
- Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from accredited program
- Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid Nevada Speech-Language Pathology license
- 2+ years of school-based speech therapy experience
- Strong clinical knowledge of pediatric communication disorders
- Expertise in teletherapy technology and virtual engagement techniques
- Excellent clinical documentation and progress reporting skills
- Multilingual or multicultural competency highly valued
