Position Overview
Provide comprehensive speech therapy services for approximately 50-60 students per week, working 37.5 hours in our dynamic virtual platform. Your clinical skills will address the full spectrum of communication disorders from articulation and phonology to complex language and social communication needs.
Clinical Service Portfolio
- Complete thorough speech-language evaluations using norm-referenced and criterion-referenced tools
- Design individualized therapy programs targeting specific communication skill deficits
- Deliver motivating virtual therapy sessions incorporating games, activities, and multisensory approaches
- Implement phonological intervention strategies for children with multiple sound errors
- Provide language therapy addressing sentence formulation and discourse skills
- Support students with stuttering through fluency-shaping and stuttering modification techniques
- Address communication needs of students with neurological or developmental conditions
Specialized Treatment Areas
- Childhood apraxia of speech intervention using DTTC and other motor-based approaches
- Complex language disorders requiring intensive grammatical and narrative intervention
- AAC assessment and training including communication apps and speech-generating devices
- Social communication intervention for autism spectrum and related disorders
- Language processing support and compensatory strategy development
- Voice and resonance therapy including vocal fold nodule rehabilitation
- Accent modification and dialect support when educationally relevant
Collaborative Educational Practice
- Lead IEP team discussions presenting evaluation findings and therapy plans
- Train teachers in embedding communication goals within classroom activities
- Coach parents on facilitating language development and practice at home
- Collaborate with reading interventionists on phonological awareness instruction
- Partner with ESL teachers supporting English language learners with communication disorders
- Consult with administrators on communication accessibility and program development
- Engage in professional learning communities with fellow specialists
Professional Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) in good standing
- Current New Mexico Speech-Language Pathology license
- 2+ years of pediatric speech therapy experience in schools
- Strong clinical skills across communication disorder categories
- Proficiency with teletherapy platforms and virtual service delivery methods
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building rapport with students remotely
- Cultural competence serving diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds

- Treatment planning integrating evidence-based practices and clinical judgment
- Knowledge of augmentative communication evaluation and implementation
