We're looking for an experienced Speech Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive communication therapy services for students in virtual learning environments across all educational levels. This remote position offers professional flexibility while maintaining meaningful therapeutic relationships and supporting critical communication development and academic achievement outcomes.

Role Overview Serve 46-56 students through virtual platforms, working 35-37.5 hours weekly to deliver speech and language assessments, therapy services, and communication interventions. You'll collaborate with educational teams, families, and related service providers to address complex communication needs while promoting positive student outcomes and academic success. Our speech language pathologists serve as essential advocates for communication accessibility and educational inclusion.

Clinical Service Delivery

  • Conduct speech and language evaluations using research-validated virtual assessment methodologies
  • Provide individual therapy addressing articulation, language, fluency, voice, and cognitive-communication disorders
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups focusing on social communication, pragmatic language, and peer interaction skills
  • Implement positive communication supports and universal design for learning principles
  • Complete augmentative communication assessments and provide device training and support
  • Provide communication crisis intervention and coordinate services with external therapy providers
  • Deliver professional development training to educational staff on communication disorders and classroom supports

Student Population Served

  • Elementary students with emerging speech sound disorders and language delays
  • Middle school students with complex communication needs and social interaction challenges
  • High school students preparing for post-secondary communication demands and transition planning
  • Students with autism spectrum disorders requiring intensive social communication intervention
  • Students with multiple disabilities needing augmentative and alternative communication systems
  • Students with traumatic brain injury requiring cognitive-communication rehabilitation
  • Students with feeding and swallowing disorders needing comprehensive dysphagia management

Essential Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology with comprehensive clinical training
  • Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or clinical fellowship completion
  • Active Michigan speech-language pathology licensure or eligibility for state certification
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience providing speech therapy services in school settings
  • Demonstrated competency in virtual service delivery and remote therapeutic intervention
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication disorders across age ranges

Preferred Professional Background

  • Experience with assistive technology evaluation and augmentative communication implementation
  • Training in feeding and swallowing disorders and oral-motor intervention techniques
  • Knowledge of bilingual language development and culturally responsive assessment practices
  • Background in autism spectrum disorders and intensive social communication programming
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and mentoring to speech-language pathology students
