Position Details
This full-time virtual position encompasses 35 hours per week, focusing on high school students with complex communication needs. Your caseload of 45 students will span grades 9-12, addressing advanced language skills, social communication, and transition-focused therapy goals. Work directly with students preparing for post-secondary success while collaborating with vocational counselors and transition specialists.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based speech and language therapy through interactive virtual sessions
- Conduct formal and informal assessments to determine appropriate intervention strategies
- Create engaging digital therapy materials tailored to adolescent learning preferences
- Support students' communication goals related to workplace readiness and social skills
- Maintain comprehensive case management including progress monitoring and reporting
- Coordinate with special education teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Provide consultation services to teachers regarding communication accommodations
Required Credentials
- Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field
- Valid ASHA CCC-SLP certification in good standing
- Current Ohio Speech-Language Pathology license
- Minimum 2 years of school-based therapy experience required
- Experience with high school populations and transition planning preferred
- Proficiency in virtual therapy delivery and digital assessment tools
- Technology setup including webcam, headset, and dedicated workspace
Specialized Focus Areas
You'll address complex language disorders, pragmatic communication challenges, and voice disorders while supporting students with co-occurring conditions such as autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities. Your expertise will help students develop communication competencies essential for academic success and future independence.
