Pediatric School Speech Therapist | Painesville, Ohio

A long-term speech-language pathologist (SLP) is needed to cover a leave for the remainder of the school year at an elementary school in Painesville, OH. This contract position begins in January and ends at the conclusion of the school year.
The role focuses on providing SLP services primarily to children in grades 3 through 5. The caseload will include approximately 50 students, comprising both those receiving speech-only support and others in self-contained classrooms. Collaboration with two other experienced SLPs in the district will support professional growth and quality care.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in school settings, including work as a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) SLP
- Background in pediatrics and healthcare-based speech therapy
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) recognized
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload with a mix of speech-only and self-contained students
- Strong collaboration skills to engage effectively with fellow SLPs and educational staff
Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to individual student needs
- Implement evidence-based therapy to improve communication skills of students
- Maintain accurate records and progress notes
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with educators and parents to support student success
