Work Schedule: 35 hours per week (typically 8:15 AM - 3:15 PM or 3:05 PM, Monday - Friday)
Dates: September 2, 2025 - June 26, 2026 (Full 2025-2026 School Year)
About the Opportunity
We are actively seeking one dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year in the Orange, New Jersey area. This full-time, onsite position offers a consistent schedule and the opportunity to provide vital direct services to a diverse K-12 student population. We require a highly skilled SLP with strong school-based experience who can seamlessly integrate into our team and address the varied needs of our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing direct speech and language therapy services to students across a K-12 caseload, which will be determined by the district based on current needs.
- Conducting comprehensive, in-person speech and language evaluations.
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and evidence-based therapy plans tailored to student needs.
- Collaborating effectively and consistently with general and special education teachers, parents, school administrators, and other multidisciplinary team members.
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant documentation for all services, including evaluations, progress notes, IEPs, and required reports.
- Participating actively in IEP meetings, contributing clinical insights and recommendations.
- Adapting therapy activities and strategies to suit the diverse developmental stages, learning styles, and needs of students from kindergarten through high school.
- Performing general duties as required to support the school and district's objectives.
- Staying current with best practices, research, and advancements in school-based speech-language pathology.
Qualifications
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is REQUIRED.
- Must have an active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of New Jersey.
- Must have strong school-based experience.
- Must have reliable transportation for consistent attendance and any potential district travel.
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- A genuine commitment to fostering inclusive educational environments and empowering students to reach their full communication potential.
