A K-12 school in Opelika, AL is seeking qualified Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to provide essential support throughout the contract school year, starting November 12th through to the end of the school year. The roles include two part-time positions (20 hours per week with open days) and one full-time position (30-40 hours per week).

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 30 students, spanning flexible age groups, typically K-12.
  • Provide itinerant speech-language services by traveling between two school locations.
  • Utilize AAC device expertise to support students effectively.
  • Collaborate with school staff; note that IEP writing responsibilities are not included.
  • Maintain records and track student progress in compliance with school policies.
  • Work closely with other educational professionals to support student development.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Speech-Language Pathology Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC).
  • Experience working as a school-based SLP, preferably with K-12 students.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience using AAC devices.
  • Ability to manage travel between multiple school sites.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Flexibility in scheduling part-time hours; full-time hours accommodate 30-40 hours weekly.
