Work Hours: Monday – Friday | 7:45 AM – 3:15 PM | 35 hours/week
Student Population: PreK through 12th grade
Service Locations: Multiple school sites (TBD) within Shelton School District

Position Overview:
Shelton School District is seeking a dedicated and licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to provide full-time, onsite therapy services to a diverse PreK–12 student population. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a measurable difference in students' physical development, functional independence, and ability to access and participate in the school environment.
You will be responsible for conducting evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing direct therapy aligned with each student’s needs and educational goals. This role requires strong collaboration with educators, families, and fellow service providers and a thorough understanding of compliance standards under IDEA and state education regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver direct physical therapy services to students to support gross motor function, mobility, postural control, and participation in daily school routines.

Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations using standardized and functional tools to determine service eligibility and therapy needs.

Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans based on student IEP goals and evolving needs.

Provide consultation and support to school staff and families to promote generalization of skills in the classroom and school setting.

Participate actively in IEP team meetings, contributing data, recommendations, and clinical insight.

Maintain up-to-date documentation, including therapy logs, progress reports, assessment summaries, and compliance records in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

Travel between multiple school sites within the district, maintaining consistent service delivery and communication across settings.
Required Qualifications:

Current Washington State license as a Physical Therapist

Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution

School-based or pediatric physical therapy experience strongly preferred

Strong working knowledge of IDEA, FAPE, and related special education processes

Excellent time management, adaptability, and documentation skills

Ability to build strong rapport with students, staff, and families in a multidisciplinary setting
