School Speech Language Pathologist - Okeechobee, Florida
Providing speech-language services across K-12 schools in Southeast Florida, this contract role offers a dynamic opportunity for licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to support students’ communication needs in diverse educational settings. Assignments vary by campus, including middle and K-8 schools, as well as evaluation teams within the district office. This position requires full or part-time availability with a start date as soon as possible through June 2, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive speech-language pathology services to students in grades K-12, addressing diverse communication disorders.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Conduct evaluations and assessments, including specialized testing in some settings.
- Provide direct therapy services and assist with progress monitoring.
- Maintain detailed documentation and comply with district and state guidelines.
- Work independently with minimal onsite SLP support on designated days.
Qualifications:
- Active Florida State License in Speech-Language Pathology.
- CCC-SLP certification preferred for evaluation team assignment.
- Experience working with school-age populations (K-12).
- Ability to work full-time or part-time schedules with flexibility across assigned campuses.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with school personnel.
Location: Assignments located in Southeast Florida including middle schools and K-8 campuses in Ft. Pierce and Port St. Lucie.
This contract offers varied environments from inclusive schools with InD units to DHH cluster sites, supporting diverse student needs. Candidates must be available onsite as this position does not allow for hybrid or remote arrangements.
