Position Overview
Ojai Unified School District is actively seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support an elementary caseload. This role will focus on providing direct speech and language services, supporting students with mild to moderate communication needs, and collaborating closely with staff and families to ensure each child has the tools necessary for academic and personal success. The provider will be an integral member of the school team, helping students build communication skills that directly impact their classroom participation and social interactions.
Responsibilities

Deliver direct therapy services to elementary students across assigned schools.

Support students with a variety of needs including articulation, fluency, receptive/expressive language, and AAC (if applicable).

Participate in IEP meetings, provide progress updates, and collaborate on student goals.

Document services, maintain accurate records, and support compliance with district and state guidelines.

Partner with general education teachers, special education staff, and families to reinforce therapy strategies.

For SLPs: oversee and collaborate with SLPA support staff as needed.
Qualifications

Active California SLP or SLPA license (required).

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (for SLPs) or Associate’s degree in SLPA program (for SLPAs).

Previous school-based experience preferred but not required.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based school environment.

Organizational skills to manage caseload, documentation, and scheduling across sites.
Compensation
-
SLPA Pay Rate: $35–$37.50/hour

SLP Pay Rate: $45–$60/hour
