Position Summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support a district in the Oak Brook, IL area. This opening is within the school’s Structured Learning Environment (SLE) program, serving students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities in highly supported, self-contained classrooms.

The SLP will collaborate with a strong multidisciplinary team, providing communication services to students who benefit from individualized, structured, and visual supports.


Role Details

  • Full-time schedule for the remainder of the school year

  • Assigned 3–4 SLE classrooms, each with 6–8 students

  • Student profiles range from limited verbal communicators to AAC users

  • Works closely with classroom teams, paraprofessionals, and the special education department


Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide direct speech and language therapy to students in self-contained settings

  • Conduct assessments, develop communication goals, and participate in IEP processes

  • Support implementation of AAC systems, visual supports, and structured communication frameworks

  • Consult regularly with staff to foster communication opportunities throughout the day

  • Maintain compliant documentation, progress reports, and service logs

  • Partner with families and staff to support generalization of skills


Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology

  • Active Illinois SLP License & Professional Educator License (PEL)

  • Experience with Autism, AAC, or structured learning programs preferred

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
