A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available within a K-12 school setting in Charleston, SC, to provide itinerant services across multiple campuses. This short-term contract role covers a maternity leave through mid-March 2026 and requires a flexible professional capable of managing diverse responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to students from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, evaluations, and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide itinerant support, splitting caseload between two primary campuses, with potential additional coverage at a third location
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to meet students’ individualized communication needs
- Maintain detailed documentation and comply with all relevant state and district regulations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and active South Carolina state licensure as an SLP (CCC required); candidates with pending licensure will not be considered
- Certified and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC only); Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) and Clinical Fellows (CFs) are not eligible
- Previous experience working with a K-12 caseload in an educational setting preferred
- Ability to work independently and flexibly across multiple school sites
- Strong understanding of IEP development, assessment protocols, and service delivery best practices
Location and Schedule:
- Position is based in Charleston, SC
- Itinerant role supporting multiple schools within the district
- Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week
- Contract duration: ASAP start through March 13, 2026
