A contract Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in Norristown, PA, supporting both elementary and high school students across two nearby locations. This role begins ASAP and continues through the end of the school year (EOSY), with an exciting Extended School Year (ESY) opportunity as well.
The position involves working with approximately 45 students who have diverse speech-language needs, including those requiring Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and support for Autism spectrum-related challenges. This setting provides a rewarding challenge for an SLP skilled in school-based services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy to elementary and high school students
- Implement therapy plans to address speech, language, and communication needs
- Support students utilizing AAC devices and strategies
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to create individualized treatment goals
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports per school guidelines
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
- Experience working with school-aged children in elementary and high school settings
- Knowledge of AAC technology and strategies for students with Autism
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage caseload across two locations approximately 15 minutes apart
