Requirements & Qualifications
- Completed undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences/Speech Language Pathology required
- Work experience in public schools required (practicum experience is acceptable)
- Knowledge of speech and language development and disorders
- Ability to implement treatment plans under SLP supervision
- Understanding of school-based speech language pathology practices
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills
- Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with supervising SLPs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and educational teams
- Commitment to full-time employment (35 hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Provide speech and language support services under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist
- Implement treatment plans and therapy activities as directed by supervising SLP
- Assist with student assessments and screenings as appropriate
- Conduct therapy sessions with individual students and small groups
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records
- Support students' communication development across various settings
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and educational teams
- Participate in IEP meetings as appropriate
- Follow all protocols and procedures established by supervising SLP
- Maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards
