Virginia Beach schools need your SLPA expertise! Join our team for a full-time role (35 hours/week) providing critical speech and language support services under SLP supervision. Your undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences/Speech Language Pathology combined with public school experience (including practicum) prepares you for this rewarding position. Requirements & Qualifications

  • Completed undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences/Speech Language Pathology required
  • Work experience in public schools required (practicum experience is acceptable)
  • Knowledge of speech and language development and disorders
  • Ability to implement treatment plans under SLP supervision
  • Understanding of school-based speech language pathology practices
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with supervising SLPs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and educational teams
  • Commitment to full-time employment (35 hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech and language support services under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist
  • Implement treatment plans and therapy activities as directed by supervising SLP
  • Assist with student assessments and screenings as appropriate
  • Conduct therapy sessions with individual students and small groups
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records
  • Support students' communication development across various settings
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and educational teams
  • Participate in IEP meetings as appropriate
  • Follow all protocols and procedures established by supervising SLP
  • Maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards
