Providing speech-language services in a K-8 school setting, this full-semester contract position supports a caseload of approximately 45 students across PreK to 8th grade, with the option to participate in extended school year (ESY) programming. The role consists of a 32.5-hour workweek, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, serving one school with itinerant and paid travel components included.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct speech-language pathology services to a diverse caseload spanning PreK through 8th grade, including ESY when available
  • Utilize school-based speech therapy techniques appropriate for pediatric populations
  • Document and maintain individualized education program (IEP) goals and progress in the district’s IEP system (training provided)
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and caregivers to support student communication needs
  • Attend and actively participate in paid team meetings and administrative time as scheduled
  • Assist with caseload transition from PreK to middle school settings during the school year
  • Follow all district regulations, including credentialing and fingerprinting requirements prior to starting

Desired Qualifications:

  • Completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) in speech-language pathology preferred
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA highly desirable
  • Experience working in school settings with pediatric populations
  • Familiarity with K-12 speech-language intervention strategies and workload management
  • Ability to deliver therapy both in-person and implement indirect services effectively

Location: This position is located in Newark, New Jersey, serving a single school within the district.
