Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Newark, NJ
Seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a contractual assignment in a high school setting located in Newark, NJ. This role involves providing specialized speech therapy support to a single 16-year-old student, focusing on enhancing communication abilities through both verbal and augmentative methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct 30-minute speech therapy sessions once per week.
- Utilize a combination of verbal and augmentative communication strategies to support and improve the student’s functional communication skills.
- Develop and adapt individualized therapy plans to meet the specific needs of the student.
- Collaborate with educational staff to integrate communication goals within the student's daily school activities.
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates on the student's development.
Qualifications:
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Experience working as an SLP in school settings, pediatric environments, and healthcare.
- Strong skills in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) techniques.
- Ability to work independently and provide targeted support tailored to individual student needs.
