Speech Therapist Job Empower Newark Students Through Communication Support
Newark Public Schools is hiring a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to deliver high-impact therapy services to students in a supportive, school-based setting. This role focuses on helping K–12 students overcome communication challenges that affect academic performance and social engagement.
Role Overview:
The SLP will work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to deliver assessments and targeted interventions that promote speech and language development. You’ll provide individualized support and contribute to IEP development and implementation.
Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate students for speech-language impairments and complete formal reports

Provide direct therapy and track progress toward IEP goals

Address speech sound production, receptive/expressive language, fluency, and social language skills
-
Attend and participate in IEP and eligibility meetings
-
Collaborate with school staff and families to promote carryover in daily routines
-
Maintain accurate service logs and compliance documentation
Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
-
Current New Jersey SLP License
-
NJDOE Educational Services Certificate with SLS Endorsement
-
ASHA CCC preferred
-
Experience in school settings is valued
-
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Position Details:

Type: Full-time, onsite

Schedule: Monday–Friday during standard school hours
