SLP Job Opening Help Newark Students Communicate with Confidence
Newark Public Schools is looking for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students in developing their communication abilities. This full-time, school-based position provides the opportunity to make a lasting impact through individualized therapy and collaborative support in academic settings.
Position Overview:
The SLP will assess student needs, develop treatment plans, and provide both direct and consultative services. You’ll work closely with educators, families, and support staff to help students improve speech, language, and social communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct speech and language evaluations and complete reports

Implement individualized therapy aligned with IEP goals

Provide services in one-on-one and small group settings
-
Address speech articulation, language processing, fluency, and social pragmatics
-
Attend and contribute to IEP meetings
-
Maintain accurate documentation of sessions and student progress
Required Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
-
Valid New Jersey SLP License
-
NJDOE Educational Services Certificate (Speech-Language Specialist Endorsement)
-
ASHA CCC preferred
-
Prior experience in school settings is a plus
-
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills

Schedule: Monday–Friday during regular school hours

Caseload: K–12 students (varies by assignment)
