Virtual SLP Position - Newark, NJ

Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our virtual therapy team, serving approximately 42-52 students across diverse grade levels from kindergarten through eighth grade. This 37-hour weekly position emphasizes individualized intervention delivery through our sophisticated online platform. The role requires creative adaptation of evidence-based practices for virtual environments while maintaining the highest standards of professional practice and student engagement.
Primary Duties
- Conduct thorough speech and language assessments utilizing virtual evaluation protocols
- Develop comprehensive intervention plans targeting specific IEP objectives and student needs
- Provide direct therapy services through interactive virtual sessions with engaging digital materials
- Collaborate closely with educational teams, families, and related service providers
- Maintain detailed progress documentation and data collection systems
- Attend IEP meetings and provide professional input on student goals and services
- Consult with teachers on classroom communication strategies and environmental modifications
- Participate in ongoing professional development and virtual service delivery training
Student Demographics and Needs
The student population includes individuals with articulation challenges, language processing difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, and developmental delays affecting communication. Students come from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, requiring culturally responsive therapy approaches. Required Credentials
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from regionally accredited institution
- Active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology
- Current New Jersey state licensure for Speech Language Pathology practice
- Minimum two years of school-based speech therapy experience
- Demonstrated competency with virtual therapy platforms and digital assessment tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for virtual collaboration
- Ability to adapt traditional therapy techniques for online delivery formats
