Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Middletown, DE
A speech-language pathologist (SLP) position is available at an elementary school in Middletown, DE, focusing on early childhood services for children aged 3 to 5 years. This contract role covers the current school year (CSY) with immediate start and extends through the extended school year (ESY). Candidates can choose a full-time schedule or part-time (2-3 days per week) with flexible hours.
Responsibilities include providing evaluation and intervention services to early childhood students with speech and language needs. Therapy sessions generally occur following a schedule between 8:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m., usually amounting to approximately 7.5 hours per day with a 30-minute lunch break. Teletherapy options may be utilized as determined by the service delivery model.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Certification in Speech-Language Pathology, preferably holding or eligible for CCC credentials
- Experience in pediatric speech-language therapy, especially with early childhood populations (ages 3-5)
- Background in school-based speech therapy, including familiarity with CFY standards and teletherapy methods
- Ability to design and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to children’s needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and healthcare professionals
