School Speech Therapist | Middletown, New York
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist is needed to support K-12 students in a school-based setting in the Middletown, NY area for the 2025–2026 school year. This contract position offers 32.5 hours per week throughout the school year, focusing on providing comprehensive speech and language services aligned with educational standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and deliver therapy to students with speech, language, and communication disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on IEP goals and relevant state education requirements
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to foster student progress and generalize communication skills across environments
- Participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, offering professional input and recommendations
- Maintain thorough, timely documentation of therapeutic services, progress notes, and compliance records
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current New York State SLP license or eligibility for licensure
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; strong Clinical Fellows will be considered
- Experience with CSE and Department of Education processes highly desirable
- Previous school-based or pediatric clinical experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with educational teams and families
